Creating a new interface extension

Creating a new Meridian Enterprise interface extension project in Visual Basic is an easy process, thanks to the supplied AMM Extension Project template.

Follow these steps to create a new interface extension project:

1. Open Visual Basic. The New Project dialog appears as shown in the following figure.
2. Choose AMM Extension Project and click Open. A new Visual Basic project is created from a copy of the template and initialized with:

• References to Meridian Enterprise type libraries
• Project type set to ActiveX DLL
• Default project name
• An instance of the Interface Extension designer with a default name

When creating a new interface extension project, one of your first actions should be to rename the project and the designer instance. Choose meaningful names and make sure to avoid naming conflicts with other projects.

After saving the new project, you are ready to start programming.
